After Art Carmody moved on the kicking job at Louisville was essentially a toss-up...until Chris Philpott took over last season. Philpott, who was seventh in the Big East in scoring last season, will handle the placekicking and punting duties for the Cardinals this season. He's also added some weight to his frame, adding seven pounds to move up to 6'0", 198 lbs.
Philpott, who is now confident in making kicks out the 55 yards, is one of the better kickers in the Big East this season. And to have him at the ready should prove to be an advantage for the Cardinals this season.
