While USF kicker Maikon Bonani was one of the most accurate kickers in the Big East last season and was named to the preseason Groza Award watch list, it's not a lock that he's got the job this season. Head coach Skip Holtz has opened up the competition, with Bonani fighting for the job alongside redshirt freshman Marvin Kloss and true freshman walk-on Mattias Ciabatti.

One would expect Bonani to win the job, but according to Holtz he's been up and down during their time in Vero Beach. Kloss has kicked well, and he's also part of the kickoff specialist and punting battles.
