Freshman quarterback Trevone Boykin has so impressed TCU coach Gary Patterson that plans to redshirt him may be on hold. Patterson noted Boykin's natural leadership ability and that the Horned Frogs have only three viable quarterback options -- Casey Pachall, backup Matt Brown and Boykin.
Boykin has demonstrated a lot of ability thus far in camp and it's likely he'll travel with the Horned Frogs as the third/redshirt quarterback. If injuries strike, the redshirt will come off and he'll play, said Patterson.
