Iowa State wide receiver Darius Reynolds broke a toe during practice Thursday and his availability for the season opener is unknown.

Even with the injury, some guys have been stepping up to try and fill the void left by tight end Collin Franklin. The Cyclones return Darius Darks (106 career catches) and starter Josh Lenz and should get a boost from JUCO transfer Aaron Horne, who is expected to start this season.
