Texas Tech quarterback and likely starter Seth Doege put up big numbers during Saturday's scrimmage, going 16-of-18 with three touchdowns and one interception.
Backups Jacob Karam and freshman Michael Brewer also looked solid, but Brewer will likely redshirt in order to preserve his eligibility. That should leave Karam as the official second stringer, assuming Doege can maintain his hold on the starting job.
