California coach Jeff Tedford says he will name the backup quarterback to starter Zach Maynard by Wednesday. Tedford said that Allan Bridgford had a slight lead on Brock Mansion for the No. 2 slot.
Mansion had four starts in 2010, but produced a single win. Bridgford has been fairly impressive this fall camp, enough to overcome the perceived lead Mansion had entering camp. It seems the coaching staff is high on Bridgford, too.
