Virginia running backs coach Mike Faragalli had some interesting things to say about four Cavalier running backs that are expected to play this season, and their probable roles.
Notably, Perry Jones will be used "When we do go to a spread out-type situation with two tailbacks, (Jones or Khalek Shepherd) will be the receiving back." Faragalli then notes that Kevin Parks and freshman Clifton Richardson "would be in the backfield as the I-type guys." Jones caught 31 balls last season, and is still the unquestioned starter. It's great news for Jones in PPR leagues, but this doesn't make me feel real great about his chances to be a workhorse back.
