According to Connecticut head coach Paul Pasqualoni, a decision on the starting quarterback will not be announced until the Huskies open their season with Fordham next Thursday. So even with many reports that freshman Michael Nebrich had taken the lead in the competition, we won't know for sure until the Huskies take the field.
Is the competition truly open? Or is this a move to make sure all involved parties (Michael Box, Scott McCummings and Johnny McEntee) continue to compete throughout this final week. But one also has to wonder if the opponent allows for such uncertainty as well.
