Some UTEP beat writers are making a strong case for Nathan Jeffrey to be named the backup to incumbent running back starter Joseph Banyard.
While the Miners have Vernon Frazier and Leilyon Myers on the roster, Jeffrey is a very talented freshman and the thought would be to have him develop this year so that he can have a solid four-year career. Whoever is the second string back this week should see the field a lot given the score that is likely against Stony Brook.
