UAB freshman Kennard Backman has been named the team's starter at tight end and should be monitored in all formats.
UAB loves to throw the ball and with Pat Shed out, the Blazers will be doing more of the same. Backman is a pass catching specialist, so on running downs he will lose snaps to Sam Accursio. Keep Backman as a name to remember entering 2011.
