Wisconsin kicker Philip Welch (leg) has been ruled out for the season opener against UNLV. “It still hurts, so I’m going to have to give it another week,” Welch said. “I tried kicking Saturday and just kind of hurt it more. I’m going to lay off.”
Hold off on inserting Welch until he is confirmed a go. Kyle French will handle the kicking duties while Welch is out.
