Oregon State receiver Markus Wheaton missed Tuesday's practice, his third straight, while dealing with a hip flexor issue. Coach Mike Riley said Wheaton is day-to-day in terms of playing in the opener.
If Wheaton can't go, expect the Beavers to trot out Obum Gwacham to get the start in his place. There's still time for Wheaton to get back into the action, but with each day and each vague reference to his health, you have to wonder.
