Connecticut tight end Ryan Griffin, who was named to the preseason Mackey Award Watch List, had a nice debut in the Huskies' 35-3 win over Fordham. Griffin caught three passes for 94 yards, 55 of which came on a connection with Scott McCummings for a second quarter touchdown.
Griffin was listed as co-starter with John Delahunt but Delahunt is more of a blocking tight end. Griffin can do both and should be a viable option in the Huskies' multiple offense.
