New Mexico tight end Lucas Reed, considered one of the top tight ends in the west, had a relatively quiet afternoon in the loss to Colorado State. Reed had two catches for 30 yards and no scores.
In all honesty, we thought new quarterback Tarean Austin would look for Reed quite a bit, so the two-catch total is a bit disappointing. We'll keep an optimistic eye on the situation as we can't imagine Reed not getting heavily involved with a young quarterback under center.
