Wisconsin kicker Philip Welch had a "procedure" done on his injured right (kicking) quadriceps and will keep his leg immobilized this week. The earliest he could return is against Northern Illinois in Week Three.
You can safely start Kyle French again this week as the Badgers take on Oregon State. Next week, it might start getting a little dicey though, depending on how quickly Welch is able to practice.
