Rickey Galvin was the lightning for the Washington State running game, registering 80 yards on only five carries, including a 48-yard scoring run to get things going less than three minutes into the game.
The Cougars spread the carries out among four backs, which may have been as much to do with the quick dispatching of UNLV. In all, five backs had five carries or more, with the most (9) going to Carl Winston. Of the backs, Galvin demonstrated the big play potential that's going to get him touches this season.
