Alejandro Maldonado was called on for Oregon kicking duty Saturday after a late decision to sit kicker Rob Beard. Maldonado was 9-for-9 on extra points in the game. A year ago, Maldonado was taken out of a redshirt season in the season's final weeks to do punting chores.
Oregon coach Chip Kelly does not discuss injuries, so there's not telling whether Beard will be back soon or if he has a serious injury. For now, it's safe to say the Duck kicking game is in solid hands no matter who lines up back there.
