California receiver Kaelin Clay did not practice Tuesday as he works through an academic issue and coach Jeff Tedford described him as "doubtful" for Saturday's game against Presbyterian.
Clay's absence will certainly set him back in terms of game reps. It is unclear what type of academic issue is holding him up, but it's certainly something of some significance. We'd like to see him get on the field because he's got the ability to make plays.
