Texas quarterback Garrett Gilbert is shelved for the remainder of the season after having shoulder surgery. He injured the shoulder in week one against Rice.

Tough blow for Gilbert, although he had already been demoted to third string because of his start against BYU. It looks like we now have a legitimate reason for his poor play. Gilbert is expected to make a full recovery and we wish him all the best.
