UTEP went with Carson Meger at quarterback on Saturday and he was OK, throwing for 240 yards and two touchdowns on the road at USF.
UTEP was within 14 at halftime, but Meger could not lead a comeback and ended up throwing three picks. If Nick Lamaison cannot return next week, Meger will start against Houston.
