UNLV quarterback Caleb Herring admits he started pressing as the mistakes mounted in the Rebels shocking 41-16 loss to FCS school Southern Utah. Herring threw for 223 yards, but after having only two turnovers in the team's first three games, he fumbled once and was intercepted three times -- all three of which were returned for scores.
"I didn't need to press and I did -- and when I pressed it just kept spiraling from there," Herring said. Things got so bad that Sean Reilly came on for Herring a couple of times to no avail. Herring, who had played well in the upset of Hawaii the week before, needs to regroup mentally.
