Rettig rotates with Josh Bordner

Boston College quarterback Chase Rettig finished Thursday night's game against Florida State with just 76 yards passing on 11 of 18 attempts.  He threw for a score and a pick, and shared snaps from the second quarter on with redshirt freshman Josh Bordner (1 of 2 passing, 37 yards, INT, 7-45 rushing.)

Bordner came in to Chestnut Hill as a classmate of Rettig's, and provided a modest spark as the Eagles failed to make a first down before his appearance.  Bordner looked lost as a passer, and this could shape up as a true split snap situation, unlike what we're seeing in Maryland between Danny O'Brien and C.J. Brown.  Rettig and Bordner rotated throughout drives in the second half, and in a season that is completely lost, expect lots more of this as we wrap up 2011.
