California quarterback Zach Maynard said he's been studying other quarterbacks to help with his own throwing mechanics. This week, Maynard has been looking at the throwing motion of Stanford's Andrew Luck.
There's been no official announcement, but it appears that Maynard is holding onto his starting job with a lot less security than he had a couple weeks ago. Allan Bridgford is getting more work with the first team in practice this week. Expect Maynard to still start, but the hook could be quick if he doesn't get off to a solid start.
