Connecticut quarterback Scott McCummings and running back Lyle McCombs led the way on the ground in the Huskies' 28-21 win over Syracuse. McCombs rushed for a career-high 152 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries, and McCummings added 59 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.
Given Johnny McEntee's struggles in the passing game UConn had to rely more on the run, which proved to be a good thing for both McCombs and McCummings.
