With quarterback Bryant Moniz out for the rest of the regular season (he might be able to return for a bowl game), Shane Austin and David Graves will compete for the starting job in practice this week. "I felt Shane was more accurate in practice the last two weeks," offensive coordinator Nick Rolovich said. "They're real close. Shane made some plays for us. ...We're going to go with whoever can help us win"
Austin filled in for Moniz last week, but Graves has seen reps this year as well and is considered the front-runner for the starting job next season. So getting Graves -- who is a gifted runner -- some reps is a real possibility. Unless you are in a jam, be cautious on playing Austin this week against Fresno State.
