North Carolina running back Giovani Bernard left in the second quarter of Thursday's game following a helmet-to-helmet hit, and did not return.
Tar Heel Illustrated is reporting Bernard had a mild concussion. Bernard still lead the 'Heels with 45 yards and a touchdown on ten carries. I'm purely speculating, but if the head injury is indeed mild, Bernard probably won't practice until Wednesday or Thursday. Given the extra rest UNC has, I'd guess Bernard will be out there Saturday against Duke, but this will definitely be a situation to monitor.
