North Carolina running back Giovani Bernard (concussion) asked the coaching staff to let him play during the second half at Virginia Tech, and is hoping to return to practice tomorrow.
Bernard has been held out of contact, and was reevaluated today. While practicing tomorrow seems like a 50-50 proposition, he's fully expected to play Saturday against Duke. Proceed cautiously, but there's little reason to bench Bernard come the weekend.
