UConn quarterback Scott McCummings and running back Lyle McCombs were two of the catalysts in their 40-22 win over Rutgers, eliminating the Scarlet Knights from the Big East race. McCombes rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns while McCummings added 47 yards and a pair of scores of his own.
UConn's been most effective when committing to the run as opposed to trying to sell out in the passing game with Johnny McEntee. McCombs will be a player to watch for UConn next season.
