Rutgers needed a spark in the fourth quarter, so quarterback Chas Dodd was replaced by Gary Nova. Nova completed 11 of 18 passes for 298 yards and two touchdowns but also threw a pair of interceptions. Dodd completed 11 of 22 for 141 yards and an interception.
This will be an interesting position to watch, not only in the spring but also in the practices leading up to Rutgers' bowl game. Open competition seems likely at this point.
