Oregon State has granted one-time starter Ryan Katz his release from scholarship, freeing him up to seek a place to play for his senior year. Katz is slated to graduate in March, which would allow him to transfer and play immediately under the right circumstances.

Katz, the 2010 starter, was called the "glue" of the Beavers offense by coach Mike Riley when the season started, but didn't get out of the first game before the Beavers turned to Sean Mannion.
