Paul Wulff has been fired as Washington State's head football coach. In four years as the head guy, Wulff compiled a 9-40 record, prompting AD Bill Moos to make the change after a pair of face-to-face meetings with Wulff.

Wulff had lobbied hard to keep his job.The Cougars were racked by injuries the last two years, particularly to the quarterback position. Even though WSU appeared to make strides this season, it wasn't enough to keep Wulff.
