A month between the end of the regular season and California's Holiday Bowl game against Texas will provide California's Isi Sofele with time to heal. Sofele, who isn't a big running back, but a back that gets a lot of touches, has missed some practices as he heals up.
Sofele really was a revelation in 2011 and should be considered one of the Pac-12's better and more productive backs. But he's not a big guy, so the rest leading up to the bowl game will benefit him greatly heading into the Holiday Bowl.
