After much talk about who would eventually take over for Larry Fedora at Southern Miss, the Golden Eagles have decided on South Carolina defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson to be their next head coach.
Johnson should be deemed a good hire as he is a good recruiter and can really mold the rich talent from the region into a stout defense, which is normally an afterthought in the Conference USA.
