Former Rutgers quarterback Tom Savage, who transferred to Arizona following the 2010 season after losing his job to Chas Dodd, is on the market for a new school after the hiring of Rich Rodriguez. And in an interesting twist, he could be looking into a return to Rutgers. Going into 2012 Rutgers will have both Dodd and Gary Nova back.
While Savage has said that the offensive system that Rodriguez runs isn't the reason why he left Tucson, it's pretty clear that his skill don't fit that version of the spread. Also there's the matter of whether or not he could get an NCAA waiver. Any player going through a second transfer has to sit out a year, regardless of the level of the school (FBS or FCS).
