Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion was named to the Football Writers Association of America first-team freshman All-American squad. Mannion started the Beavers last 10 games, hit on 65 percent of his passes and threw 16 touchdown passes.
Mannion figures to be the centerpiece of the Beaver offense in 2012, particularly with questions surrounding his running game in abundance. Mannion not only played well for most of the 2011 season, he had several spectacular outings along the way, which bode well for 2012.
