Florida running back Jeff Demps is leaving football behind in order to concentrate on track and field and a shot at the 2012 Olympics. Demps said his mindset is that of a full-time track man now, and that he won't be attending any NFL all-star games or NFL workouts.

Demps has begun training with the Florida track team and plans to trim about 15 pounds off his 190 pound frame. In 2008, he set a world junior record of 10.01 second at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, so this is no pipe dream.
