Colorado quarterback Nick Hirschman's opportunity to win the starting job this spring took a hit. Hirschman, who hurt his foot in the fall and played through it while backing up Tyler Hansen, will undergo foot surgery and is very questionable for spring drills.
Hirschman got a start this season, but was ineffective and replaced by Hansen. He will be battling Texas transfer Connor Wood for the Buffs quarterback job, but if he can't go in the spring, he'll have a tough road to the starter's job.
