With the news that two-year starter Pete Thomas has left Colorado State, the Rams will be looking for a new quarterback this spring. The front-runner would be last year's backup, Garrett Grayson, but other names to ponder are M.J. McPeek, Conner Smith and any recruits who may walk through the door.
At this point, you'd have to think Grayson is the odds-on favorite to win the job, but with a new coach in place, the requirements for the 2012 starter may shift a little. Look for spirited competition this spring and into the fall.
