With spring practices begun at Stanford, the process of replacing Andrew Luck has also started. The candidates are Josh Nunes, Brett Nottingham, Robbie Picazo and freshman Evan Crower and Kevin Hogan. Nottingham and Hogan have the biggest arms, while Hogan is best with his feet.

Coach David Shaw said that quarterbacks will get equal reps over the first half of spring practice, at which point the battle will be culled down to two or three people. Early March will be key for the contenders to make their cases.
