Wyoming quarterback Brett Smith will be limited in spring drills as he recovers from surgery on thumb of his right throwing hand. He won't participate in any live drills, but will continue to work on footwork and other aspects of the position.
Smith's absence is unfortunate as a spring session heading into his sophomore campaign would certainly help further his development. Still, keeping him healthy is probably the most important thing for the program's quarterback of the next three years.
