Penn State running back Curtis Dukes, who is challenging to be the backup to Silas Redd, will miss spring practice as he works on academics.

If the passing game can improve at all over last season, then Redd could have a consistent season but if not, he will face a stacked box every Saturday. Dukes becomes a factor in the event of injury.
