Iowa State head coach said recently that the quarterback competition between Steele Jantz and Jared Barnett is wide open at this point. Jantz started the first six games last season but sputtered after suffering a foot injury which opened the door for Barnett, who is famous for knocking off then-No. 2 Oklahoma State.
Both players bring things to the table but I would have to venture that Barnett wins the job as he is the future of the program. Whoever wins the job should be considered a QB3.
