A pair of surgeries is expected to keep SMU running back Zach Line out of much of spring practice. In addition to the toe surgery that cost him three games in 2011, Line underwent shoulder surgery in February to clean up a lingering injury.
The Mustangs kick off spring practice on April 2 and Line is expected to be cleared of both injuries in mid-April, but there is no reason to put Line through further punishment. He'll be ready to rumble come August.
