Even though quarterback Jake Heaps must sit out a year due to transfer regulations, Kansas head coach Charlie Weis said Heaps is "leaps and bounds" ahead of other quarterbacks in the program and wants to get him a lot of work. Heaps is listed no. 2 on the depth chart.
Behind Dayne Crist, of course, who must be light years ahead of whoever comes after Heaps. It is clearly Crist's job and should he go down at some point, the Jayhawks would be in trouble behind center.
