Gillmore having to sit out spring TE battles

Colorado State tight end Crocket Gillmore isn't getting much of a chance to impress new coach Jim McElwain. Gillmore is wearing a black "no contact" jersey as he recovers from offseason shoulder surgery.

Gillmore was a defensive end until two days before the end of last spring's work. He ended up being the Rams top receiver and said even though he can't participate now, he expects more of the same in 2012. McElwain is a little more cautious, saying Gillmore did some good things on tape, but with his policy of no preconceived notions, he wants to see Gillmore do it in person.
