West Virginia running back Ryan Clarke has stepped in and performed nicely in spring practice with the Mountaineers short at tailback as a result of the injury to Dustin Garrison.
Garrison is out for the spring with a knee injury and the Mountaineers also have Andrew Buie and Shawne Alston, the only other tailbacks who carried the ball last season at West Virginia.
