California running back Brendan Bigelow led all backs with 41 yards on eight carries in the Golden Bears' Saturday scrimmage. Perhaps more importantly, coach Jeff Tedford said the young back "grew up" during the scrimmage.
Bigelow's story is well-known -- two major knee procedures before he even reached the California campus. He appears to be healthy now and demonstrated not only speed, but power during the scrimmage. He's got some people in front of him, but he could press for touches this fall.
