There has been a lot of speculation on what postiion Northwestern's Kain Colter will play this fall, but he will enter and exit spring practice as the starting quarterback. "He’s the guy now," coach Pat Fitzgerald said of Colter. "With that comes a lot of confidence, and the same thing with Trevor (Siemian). I feel really confident with that group."
The Colter situation looks very similar to that of Kansas State quarterback Colin Klein last offseason. We knew Klein could run, but could he be an effective enough passer to hold onto the job? Klein ended the season rushing for over 1000 yards and 27 touchdowns and was a capable passer. While he might not put up those types of numbers, the Wildcats will start the year with Colter behind the center.
