With a host of Utah tight ends banged up and out of spring practice, Jake Murphy has risen to the top of the tight end depth chart -- and he could very well stay there when everyone is healthy. Murphy took advantage of the added reps due to injuries and made a case for getting snaps this fall.
Coach Kyle Whittingham isn't fretting about having as many as five tight ends deserving of playing time come the fall and noted the Murphy will certainly be in the mix when everyone is healthy. For now, Murphy is the man to beat after shining this spring.
