One of the exciting developments in Oregon State's spring campaign has been the emergence of Obum Gwacham from track stud to football impact player. The wide receiver is a 7-foot high jumper, but has made little impact on the football team until this spring. Now, the 6-5, 224-pounder is making football plays that only someone with his athleticism can make.
Markus Wheaton is a known entity, but beyond that the Beavers are a receiving mystery. Coach Mike Riley said that Gwacham has "made a ton of plays" during the spring and has stepped in for the injured-again Jordan Bishop to get reps at several positions. Gwacham's size, speed and ability to get off the ground make him an intriguing addition to this offense.
